12/18/22 - Winter Storm Update
Power has been restored to a large number of households on Route 113 and Route 5. There are still pockets in those areas that are out and crews are continuing to work on those. GMP have line crews in town who will be working this afternoon and early evening. Unfortunately, I do NOT have updates on when power will be restored to individual roads.
Some of our secondary roads will likely be without power until later tomorrow (Monday) and individuals who are the only residence out on a particular line may be out through Tuesday.
The damage on Route 132 (for example) was significant and crews are estimating it may be tomorrow until they are able to restore power based on the repairs they are continuing to work on. In many areas, crews needed to simply cut wires to open up roads and now are returning to fix poles as well as restring the lines.
EC Fiber crews are also working in town but please notify their customer service if you have questions or your service is out.
Please also make sure that you have reported your power outage to GMP. While they can ping our smart meters to determine if they are out, the amount of damage was overwhelming, so please be proactive and report the outage. You can do this directly on their website, or by calling (888) 835-4672 or by texting OUT to 46788.
Town Hall will remain open this afternoon until 6pm if you need to charge devices (this capability was added as power was restored to Thetford Center), fill water containers, or simply warm up a bit. For those who need additional assistance with housing for the evening please call 211 to request additional assistance and guidance.
This will be the last update for today unless we receive updated information from GMP.
Please continue to share these updates if you are able to do so.
Thank you.
