Dear community members -
Current weather predictions show another winter storm impacting our region beginning tomorrow night and continuing through Saturday, This storm will bring some snow and sleet tomorrow night and then heavy rain on Friday. The rain coupled with rapid snow melt may cause minor flooding in some areas of the state.
In addition, strong winds with gusts of over 50 MPH are predicted for our area on Friday as the storm moves through and temperatures drop rapidly. Power outages are again likely.
Now is the time to prepare for this storm. If we lose power again, do you have batteries for flashlights, gas for generators, etc. Have you fueled up your vehicles and charged your devices? Do you have a plan if you need to leave your home due to an extended power outage or flooding situation?
I will post updates on the storm and any widespread issues in town on our social media accounts and on the listserv. In addition, our emergency management neighborhood captains will be assisting in sharing information as much as possible as well. As time and staffing allows, we will try to post written information at Town Hall on the bulletin board.
Please keep an eye on the news and posted weather reports so you can adequately prepare for a challenging Holiday weekend.
Respectfully,
Mariah
